Cairns Indigenous Art Fair 2021
The Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) is thrilled to announce its return in 2021. Visitors to the art fair will once again experience the vibrancy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and cultures that only Tropical North Queensland has to offer. The theme for this year’s fair is ‘SACRED – An artistic response to Queensland’s sacred sites and significant places’. CIAF looks forward to sharing artists’ cultural insights, through their collection of artistic responses to the theme, and welcoming you to this year’s fair. For those unable to travel to tropical Cairns, you can still view exclusive digital content and purchase works via ‘online art fair’.

Acknowledgement of Country
The Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire Council (YASC) wishes to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land within the shire boundaries – the Gunggandji and Yidinji peoples; and the area agreements developed through previous negotiations that provide clear opportunities and processes for traditional owners to be formally involved in the land planning process.
The Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire Council also wishes to acknowledge the historical people brought here to Yarrabah from various locations by government policies of the past.
